Hi,
I was presently surprised to receive I-130 approval letter for my parents in the mail today. Last nite I was checking the processing dates for VSC online and saw that they are processing May 21, 2005 apps. My app PD is June 27, 2005. The processing date list was updated on Aug 18th, so I thought it will be couple of more months before I hear anything from VSC.
I was also thinking about sending my parents birth certificate to them as I didnt send them with the app. Some one here on a previous thread told me that I will get a RFE even though when I INS to confirm list of docs before I sent the apps, they didnt mention anything about needing their birth cert.
The approval letters that I got are dated Aug 18th, 2005 and states that NVC will contact my parents shortly and if they dont hear anything from NVC within 90 days to call them.
I have also signed up on the INS website to receive updates about their apps. I didnt receive anything from INS via email and when I check the status online with their EAC #, I get that INS received the apps and it is taking between 150 days and 999 days.
All in all, I am happy to get these in the mail as hoping that I can bring my parents over as soon as I can. (Origianlly I told them it can take upto 2 years, looks like moving pretty quick, though I dont know how fast NVC and US Embassy in Bangladesh are).
Timelines:
PD 6/27/05
Receipt Date 6/29/05
I-130 Approval Date 8/18/05
