Received FP Late because of Address Change

Received FP Notice today.
FP was scheduled for 09/28 at Newark

I am confused ... please help me out ... anybody went thru this situation in Newark .. commerce st

FP sent on sept 7th to old address
send back to Vermont on 15th sept
Vermont send back to our new address on 27th sept.
Received today .... but FP date remained 09/28

Should not be too big of a problem. The exact same thing happened to me, here in Boston. Take the letter with you ASAP to your local ASC and have them fingerprint you. Explain to them why you are there out of turn and they might do it then and there or might ask you to come a different hour. Although the notice does not explicitly say, apparently there is about 84 days post the date on the FP scheduled date within which you should get it done
 
This is what exactly happened to me here in Virginia. You have two options -
Either you send the FP approval notice to the Local AOS center (FP Office) and ask them to reschedule you appointment, I did this, the rescheduling put by FP back by 45 days (Actual FP scheduled on 07/29, rescheduled to 09/09).

The second option would be to go the the FP office with your FP Notice, and tell them that you go it late, and they will have to let you in. I use 'have' because when I finally went to the FP office in Alexandria, Viriginia to get my FP(rescheduled) done, and I struck a conversation with the lady who was doing my FP, and was telling her the whole story about my rescheduling the FP, she said that I had wasted 45 days be rescheduling, she that the CIS has to let anybody have their FP done for 87 days after the scheduled appointment date, without a new appointment - just based on the FP Notice. Thats the law!!!!

My advise - just walk in with your FP notice, and get it done with. Just make sure you get there early around 7:30 AM - so that you can beat the crowd.

You can walk-in to the service center on some specific day of the week for cases like these. It is usually mentioned on the notification. I think it is wednesdays for most of the service centers.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your replies.
I went to Newark ASC today morning. Didn't have any problem. Went there at 8:30 AM and out by 1030 AM.
The guy out there said that this misunderstanding happens a lot because of address change.

So no need to worry.
