Received child biometrics notice - good sign or not?

I received a biometrics notice for my 10yr old daughter today.

My 485 application has been pending since Jul 2006. In January I was told by my congressman that my security check was still pending.

Does anyone know if my daughter's biometric notice has any significance? Does it mean we are through the namecheck black hole and our cases are going to be approved soon?

Anyone else experienced this and received an approval shortly thereafter? or is it just another game played by USCIS to get us filled with hope that the system really does work..?

Well, this is interesting because we have the same situation, 10 yr old kid and a fingerprint notice today. I am not sure yet but does not seem it is for the AP (Ours still pending). Interesting thing is that there are no LUDs on any of the petitions, go figure. I was going to post the same question, is this just more papertrail or it means we are close?

Anybody with similar experience?!

I too got for my 11 year old today from TSC

My lawyer say.. nothing special about it and it is becoming standard for all children.. all service centers are sending biometric collection appointment letters... they may publish something soon regarding this... there is no magic and it is not related to our name check....... another way to delay further processing by USCIS.... you know these ass..ls...

Take it easy.. have a great weekend

I thought that kids under 14 years old did not required a biometrics.

From my oberservations they don't send biometrics code 3 for a child under 14 since a background / fingerprint check is not needed.

However a rep at TSC told me they do need an updated photo for the card production!

Mamamiax - I talked to TSC rep today that said exactly same thing that your attorney told you.

I was also told my security check is still pending.. :(

My daughter gave her FP long time ago, and nothing happened since then. Please look at the dates in my signature.

Also received FP code 2 for 9yo son. No LUD change. ND - 02/23

Took my 7 year old for her biometrics, code 2, appointment yesterday and got a new LUD on his I-485 one hour later.

Just after that even I saw new LUD on my case.
