Received Biometrics Request!

I've just received Notice of Action letter I-797C, Request for Biometrics. Appointment is scheduled for 08-02-2005 at 0800 at local USCIS office in San Francisco. :)

Bonehead,

Did you receive the yellow paper in the mail asking for medicals and biographics? Is that what you call RIE?

Yes, RIE is yellow letter or Request for Initial evidence, in my case USCIS asked for I-693,Supplement to I-693 (vaccine imunization record) and G-325A x 4 biographical info update). I did my medical initialy and submited it with I-485 back in 2001. This time, I did it again, although I was not required to do so. The reason why I did it second time was, at one point in the RIE letter stated " If you submitted I-693 & I-693 Supplement, include a statement explaining this. However if we don't have your medical on our record, decision on your I-485 will be made on the evidence that we have."
The application can be denied if they don't have all documents required.

My online status did not change this time, I did not have a clue that this letter is coming my way, I did not receive e-mail from USCIS. Make sure to check your mailbox daily. Just to have peace of mind call NSC and ask if they have or have not send anything to you after your RIE was received in Lincoln, NE. Good luck. :)

If you referring to Biometrics notice, yes it states " If you fail to appear as scheduled below and fail to request rescheduling, your application will be considered abandoned."
Please, call USCIS ASAP and check what is going on, but again it might be that they just didn't send it to you yet.

Samir, what is your time line, if USCIS received your RIE, MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR MAIL BOX DAILY!!! Most probably you won't have E-mail alert that they ever send I-797C Biometrics request to you.

Ok, you are close. A friend of mine in Miami has same RD of Sep 2001 and ND Oct 2001, so your ND should be either Sep. or Oct. of 2001. He did fingerprints also 2004 in same time. No contacts since then. Next step for both of you guys is RIE. Be on alert, check your status online, by phone and your mail as often as you can. :) :) :)

I hope you guys are the next also, last batch should definitely start receiving I-797C's for Biometrics this week, because our RiE's have been procesed at the same time. Good luck.

I got my approval in May (20th) and still no biometrics ... crazy ...
 
Hmmm just now I read a post of what the biometrics are... strange... but last year I have done that or at least I think I did. It is actually a machine that takes your FP and then they take you pics right? So no more black ink for FP right?

LUD-Last Updated Date(online status change, it means an USCIS Officer looked at your file at that date)
Do you mean, your I-485 was approved in May?

I got approved May 20th (got the approval letter). 10 days later I got an email saying that their correspondence mail was undeliverable ??? Well hello, I got approval few days earlier. I called; they said that they will check. I had to wait a month to call back. Finally yesterday I called and talked to somebody in Nebraska and they said to ignore that letter because it was for my lawyer. He didn’t update address. USCIS officer said to wait for biometric appointment (but I’m waiting forever). Somebody suggested to go to local USCIS office, get a stamp for approval and then to ask them if they can expedite biometric or just take my fingerprints right there. I’m going there on Thursday.
