Received a call from CIA

Hi,

We had an interview in April for our N-400. We passed the tests but our cases are pending due to multiple A files. Today, a CIA officer called my wife but she was out of her desk. He left voice mail saying it is related to the immigration and asked her to call back. She did but he was gone for the day. Does anyone have the same experience before? Thanks,

Hello TurboCat

Maybe CIS, CIA never call, maybe the person who called left a wrong msg " maybe CIA name check was in his/her mind" you never know, CIA will never call you, they will come to you... so relax and enjoy your night. Tomorrow make a call, or let your wife to make the call . Trust me they make mistakes all the times.

good luck and i wish you and your wife the best.

should be CIS not CIA

Spoke to my wife. I think it should be CIS not CIA. It was just her perception. My wife only knew CIA or INS. She didn't know thre is CIS. By the way, why CIS called my wife? Aren't they supposed to contact applicants by mails? Thanks for your comments.

Right - the name check/background check is done by the FBI, not CIA

Let's put it this way - if the CIA checks you out you'll never know about it. They won't call your home/office and leave a message. They'll come when you're not there, get what they want and you won't even know it :D

TurboCat,
My pleasure, nothing to worry about. just have good night sleep and always there is tomorrow :).

Have a nice night

i guess my assumption about a lot of delays in n400 due to dual A#'s and not name check is right :) ....

We are hearing of dual A#'s almost on a daily basis...

With CIS:

-When you don't hear from them for months and years or when they send you Certified Mail is bad.

-When they call you is good.

Updates

My wife just called them. An agent just need straight out a question before the oath ceremony. The oath ceremony is scheduled on 6/23. My wife also inquired my case which is still pending due to name check. Agent told her it might take weeks, months or even longer to get my name check clear. She said they were all very nice to talk with. Boston is our DO.

What is this Dual A# issue all about?

How one get two A#? During GC process or something wrong happens after GC process but before Citizenship process?
