Receipt number Logic. Is this True?

I had read on some of the post here that receipt numbers follow the following logic.

eg: eac0402552519

eac - for all vermont
04 - year of receipt
025 - day of the year
52519 - Sequence number for the day

Also, year begins on oct 1st. so eac04001***** would actually be Oct 1st 2003.

Can someone verify if this is true?


Also if this is true, the check the case status for eac0402552519.
Its an approved I140.
Something here that I can't comprehend.

That is true. It is also avialable on CIS official web site. This person with this EAC number is Lucky one. His I-140 approved within 14 days. USCIS Jindabad.

see the approval of the case you mentioned,doesn't it show LOGICAL LOGIC OF LOGIC USCIS.........grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

EAC Number

I disagree with that classification of EAC

My EAC is 04 032 50xxx. How do you classify 032 as the day of reciept. 04 is Financial Year 2004. Last 5 digits are seriel number that is also correct. But there is some different logic for the middle 3 number.
 
Unbelievable!!

This is unbelievable.. I-140 being approved in 14 days!!! I think the logic as mentioned here for EAC # is correct. The middle 3 numbers do correspond to the BUSINESS days of the Fiscal year which starts in October 1st.

I wish we could find some more details about this particular application like classification, type of application etc. Although I guess there would be no logic for such a fast processing/turn around time....

Thanks for all the replies guys. I ran a scan and found some more I140 thats are approved in 15 - 20 days, subject to the receipt number logic being true.
I really don't think this is true though, bcos this has never happened with any of our buddies on these forums.

I guess it is just absolutely pure luck. My theory is that, 5% of I140 applications received on a particular day are kept aside for a specific group to work on. The lazy bums take 2-3 weeks to adjudicate these 5% cases.

I have been following the cases since the start of '03 fiscal year, i.e. EAC03001. Guys who alwalys (or most of the time) at casinos usually fall in the 5% category. Rest all have to go through this drudgery.

Unless a person has plans to use AC21, it does not really matter whether your I140 is approved sooner or later (assuming it is a concurrent application). So long as the I485 adjudications do not approach your RD, chilling is the best procedure to be adopted.

I guess few flames will come my way.

You might be right. Some of the cases with ND 04/03/2003 also got approved in 20-30 day timeframe.

Interesting!!! - Question??

what is interesting is that all these "Quick" approvals were received on the same day(25 th day of fiscal '04)!!

Rasmeek - how do you check these approvals?? How do you use the USCIS website to look for status of these EAC #s without knowing what the #s are?? I am trying to see if there is a way to check for another day .. say the 22nd day of fiscal year '04...

If my case clears to be cleared in 20 - 30 days, I can live with it.

Guess I am already beyond that timeframe.

EAC number Logic

I think the middle three number in the EAC numbers are the "WORKING OR BUSINESS DAY OF THE YEAR".

When i calculate from OCT 1st to my ND (10/29), it comes as 20 working/business days and this matches my EAC of 140 and so does it matches for 485,765/131

IT IS THE WORKING DAY THAT COUNTS NOT JUST THE DAY OF YEAR.
 
True the logic is true! ...
All above is true except that the 3 digits after te 2 digits of the year are for the working days (not calendar days) from oct 1. That is 5 working days a weeks! REst is true!
 
Hey..my ND is OCt1 but the three digits are 266..however if its from the RD then my RD is 31 Sept...so is it 266 working days from oct1st?
 
yes it is from receipt date. 266 sounds right since there are 365/ 366 days a year ... 52 weeks with sat and sun off so 104 days a year off.....366-104 is 262...so you are almost there!

did you mean 30th sept since sept has only 30 days?
 
Can these 18 day approval cases be attributed to people in the medical profession , like nurses. 'cos till recently VSC processing report had a very short processing time for these kind of cases. Now that they have changed the format for the processing report we cannot know for sure, i guess.
