Receipt notice for I-485

Hi,

Can someone pls tell me how long it takes for the Receipt notice to come, for the I-485 petition?

And next is, can I travel outside US before receiving the receipt notice for I-485 given that I still have a valid H1B visa? Do I need to file for Advance Parole along with I-485, even tho' I have valid H1B?

It depends which Secvice center you filer your I-485 at. It can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months.

Since you have a valid H1 visa, you can travel on that visa provided you have a vaild stamp (visa) in your passport. It is not a bad idea to file for your Advance Parole and EAD if you have not already done so.
