Receipt from CIS

I have applied I-485 for self and family after I-140 approval.From tracking number of postal services it is confirmed that the application has been received at their end.I do not have any information of the receipt number as my lawyer has not received the same.
I was wondering that do CIS people send receipt to the applicant also or not.Can any one help me in tracking down the receipt number.

Do not worry. It is coming. My application was filed and received on their end on 05/02/05. However, they did not send out notice until 05/10/05.
