Hi Friends,
Just have a quick question regarding passport book. Well I applied for my US passport book on Jan 21 at the USPS and on Jan 26 the check was cashed ($75). Do I get a receipt from the state department? :confused:Or do they just send the passport directly? Also how much time does it take these days to get the passport? I applied here in Northern Virginia. I sent it regular not expedited processing. Thanks guys. I really appreciate it.

I'm sure he's got the passport and he's now traveling around the world with it and forgot to update this thread ;) Passports are issued rather quickly nowadays.

Hello Guys

:)Hello tw7861970,
I am so sorry I did not update this thread I really apologize. I was out of state. But anyway yes I did receive my new and fancy US passport on Feb 11. I had applied on Jan 21 so it took them exactly 3 weeks. It is really cool. Looks like a story book. Just last week I registered to vote (still waiting for the voter’s registration card) and also updated my status at the Social Security office. I don’t think I will get a new card saying US CITIZEN on it. But anyway I think that is all.

Hello Huracan,
That was so funny :Dwhat you said yeah I wish I was travelling around the world unfortunately I was just in Maryland. Man I can’t wait to use my new passport someday. Yeah USPS lady told me 3 weeks and Yep she was 100%right. I did it regular mail as I am not going anywhere currently.

Raju:)
