Receipt date and Notice date

As per lawyer I485 was posted on Nov 6 2001. But AVM says the application was received on Nov 23 2001 (checks encashed with wac# on it). I thought RD is the date the application is received by INS. What happened between Nov 6 & 23? FedEx failed to deliver or INS didnt open the mail? I appreciate your reply.

it was waiting in the mail romm for data entry.
you are lucky enough to get it in 3 weeks . it took us about 3 months (files in late april,may ,june, july)

be happy for you it is 20 days, for us i.e the people who filed after second week of april it is 3 months.
 
mine was 6 weeks later

MD : Aug 7th
RD : Sep 21st

i dont if it was in the mail room/somebody\'s desk/with the data entry operator

When should I expect receipt? My checks were encashed on Nov 26.

Normally in most of the cases it takes 5 to 7 working days to receive receipts after your checks encashed. Kepp checking mail...
