I received my FP notice from attornney and along with it I received the original birth certificates back. I have sent original birth certs to attornney with my I-485 application way back in Aug 99. I am not sure what attorney sent to INS with my I-485 app. So I do not know if these certs were returned by INS to my attorney\'s office and he sent them back to me. Or they were with my attorney all this time and she had decided to send them back to me now. I checked with one of my friends, who works for the same company as mine and he told me he never received the original birth certs back. He had his FP done long back. I checked with my attorney\'s office and did not get a satisfactory answer.
Did any one have a similar experience?
Does INS require original birth certs along with I-485 app? Or they need only copies?
If so, when do they normally return them?
