Recd. Letter from FBI

Guys,
Today I recieved a letter from FBI. Its say with reference to my Fax dated...., the FBI completed a record check for you on Jan xx, 2003 ...., and for your wife name on Dec 29 2002. The results were forwarded to USCIS.

Question:
(1) I faxed information requesting Name check, but what is this record check??
(2) Are the records checks still valid??, since, the record checks were completed long long ago, will USCIS request for Name check again, just before processing our case??
(3) Did anybody else recieve a letter from FBI?? or am I a trend setter??

Urget Regd Name Check

I got call from FBI regarding name check, the lady took my email address and she told me that by Monday or Tuesday I would get result to my email address. One more thing she told to tell my friends who ever send fax to FBI for name check they have include email address or fax number because they said it will take time to call personal . So I request you guys to include email address or fax back number
