i dont see any problem with passport stamping in another state. i did how ever read in a previous post that some ins offices can raise the issue of " why are you here " when you belong to another state. but i think it is very rare. as long as you have the courtesy or the original copy and the relevant docs i dont see any problem. good luck
Yes, you can stamp your passport at an INS office near you. Please check with them before you go. A friend of mine who was asked to appear in New York city for passport stamping did his stamping from a Florida INS office and had no problems.
