My wife & I received our first fingerprint notices yesterday (appt set for Aug 25). Not sure what triggered it, but could be any of the following:
* As others are theorizing, TSC could be performing a "FP mass sweep" for all pending 2001/02 petitions.
* My (long overdue) 3rd AP petition might have automatically triggered action on my I-485 petitions (just as others here are thinking that a 3rd AP/EAD seems to trigger action, since it clearly indicates a long pending petition).
* I sent a few faxes to TSC requesting FP, just as suggested by several participants here. I probably sent one every 2 weeks in the last 2 months.
* Our attorney initiated an enquiry via AILA TSC liaison on my long overdue AP petition (AP ND 28-Jan-04!). This could have prompted a closer look at my entire file. This was after NCSC's (apparently bogus) status inquiry only resulted in a (equally useless) reply of "Status: your application is pending." Surprisingly, last week we received an RFE (by FedEx!) for the AP, asking us to send back a copy of our original I-131 form. Apparently, they lost my I-131. We sent it Friday, and received an approval email on Monday! Waiting to receive the approval notice (paper) by mail. The fact that they approved the AP in a hurry makes me think it's linked to AILA inquiry. Perhaps.
