Really Weird Message

Hi All

Today morning when I checked my mail I got a shock of my life. It said "Your 140 case is withdrawn" :(

I forwareded that mail to our HR manager. HE was aslo shocked , he fwded it to Attorney. She enquired and found out that case was not withdrawn. Only thing that had happened was My company name is changed and they have submitted that paper. and INS has send a RFE regarding corporate tax papers and other things. (I havent seen RFE yet, and dont know whether i would be able to see that). I also talked to our CEO.

But the question is in this case why INS updated my case with such message? I discussed this case with my friend and he also said that if 140 is withdrawn then all other things like EAD/485 would also be withdrawn.

MY HR manager/Attoney has said nothign to worry and be happy that they are processign my case.

I had the same case; My company name was changed so they asked us to withdraw the I-140 Application and to file new I-140 with new company Name.

But nothing to worry, All other application will be linked to new I-140.

What about Priority dates? I hope all dates remain as they were. was your status message also confusing like this??

sorry for the offtopic question, but i saw that you got the status change notification from USCIS's website - I assume. Would you mind sharing when the message was sent - in the evening or in the morning? I am curious when do the update their system and when they send out status messages.

Status Update Time

Hi I140InCA

Yesterday evening when I checked mails there was no update. I cheked mail today morning and i found this scare. So My guess is they must be updating it in the morning.

Was that a Company Name Change? or somebody acquired your company? I think as long as the TAX ID remains the same the company name shouldn't matter or thats what my attorney mentioned to me. I think filing new I-140 will reset the clock for 140, just let your attorney sort out this mess and i hope it works out for you.
