I recently got married to a US citizen while on an F-1 Visa and she wants me to change my status to a permantent citizen so that I can join the army (due to the fact that I will be commisioned as an officer) and it would help us financially, I have no Idea on where to start or to go about the whole situation. I have talked to the recruiters at the military and they told me that they can start processing my papers as soon as they get a stamp on my passport or proof that I have an application pending or approved by the BCIS. I dont know what kinda proof they talking about and am getting confused every minute of this. I was wondering if it would be advisable if I worked through an attorney. Please can someone help....?
