I just talked to the officer, and she said, the name check is cleared is waiting to be assigned to an officer. How long does it take in NSC to be assigned to an officer? Anyone who got this message and then recieved the approval, if yes, How many day did it take.

Thanks,

NSC is slow...

Nemo7,

Do you know if you were preadjudicated in NSc? I thought that preadjudicated cases wait for visa # only.
Or they have to go through another review by Immigration Officer. That preadjudication just does not make any sense.

I am not sure what game NSC is playing, we all knew they were working on cases when visas were not available , we just RFE for my wife's medical, since I did not get anything like many other we all thought our cases are preadjudicated,

I have not any approval except couple of rare cases, I think they are waiting for TSC to consume all visa numbers so they can go back to hibernate state again from next month

She said that my case has been pre-adjucated. Its true as I had recieved RFE in July 2006.

she said that its ready to be assigned to an officer, and he will have a final review.
How is it pre-adjucated, when yet not assigned to an officer is another story??

nemo..

I just called yesterday and I was told that my file has been moved to the area which assigns files to the officer for a final review. The officer said that it may take few weeks for assignment and few weeks for approval. I asked her if few weeks meant 4-6 weeks and she told me that it is more like 8-10 weeks.

So I think that the difference between pre-adjudication and final review is that in pre-adjudication the non-officer temporary staff combs through the case and once they have ensured that the file is due for approval, they pass it on to an officer for final review and approval.

USCIS has limited officers and more number of temps and non-officer staff ( I have a friend who works for USCIS and who told me this.)

I believe that your case and my case are fighting for the limited time available for an "officer". God willing, this will happen soon!
