06/10/2003: EB-485 Processing in Snail Pace

The EB-485 filers are continuously experiencing frustration from the backlog of their applications. The exact reasons are not known from any sources, but at least one sources indicate that EB-485 cases will not move any better at least until the new fiscal year, October 1, 2003. Ya, ya, ya......

(Under breaking news).

Guess what comes after october .. Christmas .. Jingle Bells Jingle Bells ..

My opinion

The news means I_485 division is asking for budget/resource and clearer guideline in the new fiscal year.
Remember the delay started in last October or November. I believe that adjudiators got the 'message' from management and wahtever that is 'suspend/slow down immigration process'. It is a public secret. No one speaks out the truth, so every kind excuse was given out.
I feel, after October 1, the thing will be better, the process will start rolling over at a slower pace. Currently, I evaluate the process as in suspension.

How much funds do these guys want? The amount they charge H1,I140,EAD,485 at every stage easily totals to 5-6k per case where does all that money go?

What is the diff on working on one case vs the other its a case after all .. isn't it? 485 slowness is totally diff ball game politically motivated I think..

Before BCIS (homeLand security) was formed
The Border patrolling and all those visitor monitoring was funded by Federal government.
After BCIS was formed. 90% of revenue which is gained by application fees was transferred to cover these activities including Special registration. Now that special registration got over on April25th this is replaced by The Visitor tracking system which is also funded by application money and not to forget mexican and canadian border patrol...Thats the reason they dont have people to work on 485. This will remain for a while unless the White House Chair changes
