Hi,

I have applied for my I-140 and I-485 and have received my EAD and AP (though I am still on my H1 visa which expires in June 2005). I am travelling to India.

(1) What documents besides the approval notice (I-797) should I take with me?
(2) Do I need to take I-485 receipts along with me?

Thanks,

If you still have a valid visa to enter the country at the time of your arrival you dont need anything.
If you are using AP to comeback then take the AP, I-485 receipt. Thats it.

You must take your I-797 approval notice and present it at the US immigration counter with your passport & visa.
To be on a safer side, please also take
- Your LCA (Labor condition approval)
- A letter from you employer that you are going on vacation and shall rejoin duties after your return.
- Please also take your 485 and AP, just in case they decide to question you.

It is better safe than sorry.

Best of luck.
