Re-ntry question already in India

Hi..

I have recv'd my GC 4 years ago, stayed in US all along, I had to leave US for family reasons, I am still holding my US job and working from India, not knowing all the finger printing rules etc etc, I left US in Nov, I was planning to come to US in the first week of March to apply for re-entry and going back to India after a week or so, my job will not let me stay in US for more than 2 weeks as I need to manage a huge number of staff in India. Like some one was mentioning in the thread, is it better to apply for re-entry go back to India and come back for finger printing after I rec'v the notice ( 'cas we don't know how long it will take to get the finger print notice).

Also is it better to do the e-filing or send it through Fedex?! Any experience or advise will be very much appreciated.

you have to physically be in the country when applying. What I ll advise you, is to apply ( and ask for expedite reentry permit), leave and come back for fingerprint.

I dont think you can efile from outside the usa.
 
If they go through your travel records and figure out that you were outside the US at the time of applying, they will deny the application.

I don't think you can e-file if you are expaditing for biometrics.

I am also working on applying for a re-entry permit and will be in US for two weeks only. I contacted a lawyer and based on his recent experiences he stated that finger printing appointment can be obtained within 5 to 10 days.

Will post how it goes..
