RE: Notarized or not?

I did not see any where in the instructions from OCI instructions, that we need to NOTARIZE them. Do we need to notarize them or not?

Please help
 
The san francisco consulate instructions just ask you to self-attest to the copies, write "true copy of original" and sign them, I am not sure if Washington D.C is the same or not.

It would cost quite a bit to get the documents notarised,more so for a family! Check the website of the consulate you are applying at, the procedures differ depending on where you are.
