Hi,

I got question about employement letter at consular. I believe that I need to state how much is current salary at employment letter when I go to interview. But if within these 2 years, my salary increase almost 20%. Is it okay? Or i need to match to my LC salary?

Thanks!

Take an employment letter with your current salary. It will be OK!

I am in the same boat. I have almost 35% increment. I am planning to use the Phrase

.... will be paid an annual salary of not less than $<LC Salary>. This could avoid unnecessary questions. Also, I am planning to keep another letter with the exact salary, just in case the officer picks up the issue and ask for it.

Please let me know if you get any further information/updates

Thanks

You're at much greater risk of unnecessary questions with this strategy, since you're likely going to be asked about current salary anyway (and maybe asked for proof of this).

Take ONE version of the letter, with current salary. Playing games with different documents for the same purpose will invite added scrutiny. You're hardly the only person that the consulates' see who has had salary increases; this is a multliple year process after all and this is something that would be norm for most people and not at all the exception.

Thank you for a very good suggestion. I too am not willing to take chances by producing 2 letters. I will pull the second letter only in case if the consular officer ask me to submit a letter with the actual salary. This openion was, however given to me by a few of the former member of this forum, who did the same thing in a similar situation. They got the interview through succesfully.

Once again thank you very much and, hoping to hear from you.
