Re: Namecheck

Hi,
Lets try this again.
I am new to this forum. I am trying to get informaton for a friend. My friend married a US citizen in Nov 2003 and had only 1 interview in Feb 2004. After the interview they were told no more interviews were needed. Ever since my friend has been stuck in the namecheck. Since my friend had been detained prior to the marriage, is that why the namecheck is taking so long?
Anyone have this experience? So my friend has almost been married almost 3 years now. The attorney for the case has not attempted to sue the government as he says that may provoke immigration to take back any approval because my friend was detained. At the first interview they knew my friend had been detained and did not require any further interviews so I am assuming they were satisfied. The law states that when you are married to a USC for 3 years you are entitled to apply for citizenship and the 3 years is almost here in Nov. Anybody have experience or thoughts please comment.

The Law states that the Person has to be married to a USC for 3 years AND have to be a Permenant Resident for those 3 years.
You are missing this 2nd condition my friend.
Make a search for "Name Check", you will find lots of information.
