Original FP done on 08/21/2009

We received anotrher FP notice stating that FBI was not able to process fingerprint card and re-fingerprinting should be done at Oakland on 09/17/2009

Can we do a walk-in FP at Oakland before 09/17? Will it be allowed?

Anybody had similiar experience?

I had to have my prints done twice too! It's not the FBI or the ASC's fault. I have hard to read prints. I think you can do a walk-in. If I had known (I didn't start reading this forum until after my second fingerprinting) I could do a walk-in, I would have done so immediately! Well, in my case the second FP didn't go through either, but I wasn't aware of this until I was at my interview. The adjudicator told me this at the end of the interview and told me he still needed a 'police clearance' before my case could be approved.

Let me know if you need help since it sounds like we have similar circumstances.

- Did the interviewer issue you form N-14 asking for police clearance?
- What did you have to do for getting police clearance and where did you submit it?

Thank You

Yes, he gave me this form at my interview. It's a form requesting 'additional information'. He actually surprised me telling me that my prints didn't go through the second time. I had no idea. I figured since I'm being interviewed that my prints were fine. So I had 30 days to mail in this document, and he did make it a point by saying that "Sooner is better than later".

First of all, I'm in Los Angeles, so I went to the LA County Sheriff's Dept. in Norwalk. It costs $42 to get a letter stating that I don't have a criminal history. If you go in person, it takes about an hour to get this letter.

Hi, 2Shy.

Could I please draw your attention to my post, this morning (http://forums.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=303281) - if I could draw from your knowledge. Could you please let me know what I should do, or look out for (if I am just to wait) - in order to not let my application timeline stall.

Many thanks for your time.

I really wish I could help you but I have no idea how those fingerprinting machines work, even though I had to have my prints done twice (it didn't go through the second time either...sigh...) As a result of it not going through the second time I was told to get a police clearance from my local law enforcement agency (Sheriff). I'm not sure if the FBI still had to do a name check. Anybody know? Do they usually do fingerprint AND name check, or just fingerprint?

Last week we received interview notice for 10/26/09.

Yesterday we called FBI biometrics information number to check second FP results. The lady said that this time the FP went through (Cleared) and was sent to USCIS. She also acknowledged that first FP was not clear and did not go through
