Re-fingerprinting because of poor quality prints

Does anyone have similar experience where you had to re-fingerprint because of poor quality of the first one?

I know they would call me for the second time. But I do not see the prints getting any better.

Please share any experience you have.

Thanks
Mahesh

I had the similar situation. FPs were rejected twice because of poor quality. Had to do it the third time. After the first one was rejected, CIS sent me a new FP notice, but after the 2nd was rejected again, they never sent me a new FP notice. I found out about the 2nd rejection by calling FBI. I ended up doing the 3rd FP using the FP notice that my lawyer received for 2nd FP.

My case got transferred later. Read from somewhere that if the FP got rejected twice, then it is a reason for transfer.

What happened to ur LUD status after first FP? I was fearing my FP would also be a problem. But now my LUD status says "processing has resumned on your case"...

The status after 1st FP didn't change, nor the LUD. If your status say "resumed", it means they have received your FP result. So don't worry.

Hey immihelp

How long did it take to USICS to send a new FP notice after ur FP date??

I did FP on Oct 7th and status never changed .. i am suspecting that FP was bad....

How long did it take for USCIS to mail you a new FP notice.
My Status also didn't change. I did FP some 1 1/2 months back. Am bit worried. I am think how can my and my wife's both Finger prints become poor quality... very strange right.

Thanks.

It took two weeks from the day I did 1st FP to the day I received 2nd FP notice in mail.

Even if your online status does not change, it does not mean they didn't receive your FP result or your FP was bad. I have read a lot of posts from this forum where people didn't see their online status changed after FP, but they received approval.

I too just got a notice for refingerprint. Am very unhappy about it. Now my application is delayed because some stupid ASC worker can't work the fingerprint machine. To top it all off I have to wait 2 more months to get my second prints done! Grrrr.

Does anyone know if 485 approval is separate from fingerprints? Also where are you guys getting your LUD status from?

Thanks,
Canucksta

My wife got something similar. She said she actually saw one of her prints was flashing red lines and the technician still let it through. I also don't understand what the verifier that verified everything was OK was doing.

We got the reprint notice 2 weeks after we did our prints. The reprint is for next week. I am tempted to do it tomorrow, but am afraid given the long weekend, things might get lost. I think I'll just wait my one week. It's been 3 years, what's another week?

I have jsut done my 2nd fingerprint at Hartford the technician asked me why was my fingers were so badly cracked I told her it is the cold weather and she told me they would be rejected and couldn't be read but hse sent them anyway I called the FBI and they informed me they was not cleared and it had been sent back to HArtford now I have to wait another 2 weeks before htey send an appointment I am really tired of this INS they told me my case was transferred to Hartford Oct 03 I did a sen enquiry in Oct 04 who informed me that my case was not RD in HArtford until Aug of 04 (10months later) I now have a congressman looking into it but that won't be anytime soon when does this end how can these people get away with treating us like this are we slops of meat on a production line.

The best Idea, I think, is for you to keep your hands/fingers well lubricated with moisturizer over the next couple of weeks. Have a bottle in your pocket. Keep them constantly moist and soft, so that the cracking subsides.

Re-fingerprinting definitely is a hassle. It's fairly common, but at the same time it's only the minority of cases where it happens. To answer the question above, of course they have to be cleared before the I-485 can be approved. If they are the first fingerprinting, shortly after the I-485 was filed, I'd doubt they would affet the timeliness of adjudication, but the second ones I think a delay in the FPs would translate to a direct delay in the 485.

I did my FP on 11/04/2004 and the message never changed
Called FBI ... they sent out result to USCIS same day i.e 11/04/04.
while spouse FP was done on 11/09/04 and message changed on 11/16/04.

Do I need to call USCIS to ask for Re-Fingerprint?
Any Suggestion Appreciated.

Fingerprinting issue

Hi immi_2003 ,

I have the same problem. I have excessive sweat problem becoz of which my FP don't come fine.

How long does it take to get the case transferred to the Local USCIS office. I have filed my labor from NJ. So would my local NJ office be Newark, NJ.
How long does it take in the local office for the case to be called.

Why do people involve Congressman for cases like this as i have seen in the forum. How do you even contact a congress man.

Can you please provide some more information on this. I appricate you sharing you experience with us. Thank in advance for your help.

Hi karora40888,

My wife has similar issue with fingerprinting. Her hands sweat a lot and hence fingerprints dont appear correctly. She hastried twice.

How did you get around this issue?

After searching the web, I found that alcohol wipes need to be used for wet fingers.
(Dry Hands: Use Corn Huskers lotion or a ridgebuilder like Landsbury Ridge builder beforefingerprinting.
Wet Hands: Use alcohol, alcohol wipes orWindex and wipe off each finger before printing.)

Please post anymore infromation you have on this.

I did early FP and by calling USCIS I came to know that my FPs were rejected and they have to send me a re-printing notice. Its been 2 months and I didnt receive anything yet. I still have the 1st FP notice and the apptmt is after a week from now. Can I go and give FPs with that notice if ASC allows or should I wait for 2nd notice. My concern here is my 2nd FP might also get rejected bcoz of wear and tear on my fingers. Will the USCIS have a record that I gave FPs twice and not send the 3rd notice if 2nd one is rejected, if I give FPs without receiving 2nd notice. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
