Re-enty permit

I got my passport stamped recently and waiting for
my plastic card. I would like to go to India on a
three month vacation. Do I need to take re-entry permit
for this? What if I want to stay in India for more than
6 months and less than 1 year. Do I need a re-entry permit
in this case?

no and no. You don\'t have to, but you can.
however, there is never any guarentee of admission and reentry can help if >6 months.
