Re-entry Permit

I had sent application FORM I-131 to INS - Nebraska Service center with Cashier check (mailed on Nov 7th 2001) for my father but have not heard back anything from them till date. On the application I had mentioned that I will pick up the Re-entry permit from American Consulate in Delhi. Did not get any recpt from INS - Nebraska. I mailed the forms to the PO box mentioned on their website. Anybody knows if there is a delay in replying from INS to acknowledge receipts. I thought that process normally takes couple of weeks. The problem is my Dad is leaving on 2nd Dec. I don\'t know if this is going to have any impact because even though he applied before he left he did not receive the receipt from INS. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you get your Reentry Permit finally

I am going to do the same thing. I am going to send the application to Nebraska and since I do not have enough time, I would ask them to send it to Mumbai. I wanted to check other people's experince in such matters
