re entry permit

Hello

My 2 years re entry permit expires in december 17 2009.

I am currently in the US but planing to leave by december 3 for more than 3 months.

1/Can I apply for another re entry permit before the expiration date of the old one knowing that I have urgent issues in France.

2.If not is that ok if I leave for 3 months without the risk of being denied the entry in March 2010

1. Yes
2. You don't need another reentry permit if your next trip is only 3 months and there will be no more long trips in the near future.
