Re-entry permit

Hi,

Initially we though of staying more than an 1 year in India. Hence I applied
for my re-entry permit. But we are coming back to US within 6 months (less
than 180 days),so do I need to use m re-entry permit if approved? or can
I just enter usin my GC. Please advice.
