RE-Entry Permit

Hello Gurus

I know this is not the correct place to put this question. Please let know about the
1. re-entry form or direct me to site or explain breifly about.
2.How long some one can stay out of country(MY wife want to stay in the for about four to six month becuase her mother is sick she needs to take care of it).Can she come without any problem. or it consider as the discontuining the green card.
 
You are hell of a lucky guy... six month without wife :)

coming to the point.... usually re-entry permit is not required for short stays out of US (specially when the PR has strong social ties in US and has not manifested in any form the desire to abdicate PR status). On the other hand six month may be considered (by bozo immigration officers at POE) as long stay (chances are low but strange things has happened in the past). In this situation, I would rather pay $25-50 to a good immigration attorney and buy peice of mind.
