Re-Entry Permit Timeline

Hi,
Just discovered this site today....SOOOO HELPFUL!
I've done a bunch of searches which have answered many of my questions about the Re-Entry Permit, but I haven't yet discovered the answers to the following. Could someone help me out with them?

1. What reasons will be excepted to EXPEDITE your application?

2. Biometrics normally take how long to receive? I've heard 2 weeks if expedited, but what if they are not?

3. What is the total length of time it takes to receive your Re-Entry Permit?

4. Has anyone gone through this experience and collected their Re-Entry permit abroad? I'm hoping to do this and collect it in Japan where I will be teaching for under 2 years. I would love to hear any first hand accounts.
