If I am not successful in getting a re entry permit and I am not living in the USA, what is the grace period before my green card is canceled?

Is this grace period 1 year?

Assuming that you are currently outside the USA and have been for more than a year as at the time you asked this question, if your application for a re-entry permit is denied, further details as the status of your GC will accompany your denial letter or shortly thereafter.

However, as Praetorian has told you, it is more likely that your PR status will be in jeopardy.

I hope it gets approved though :)

So you left the US without a re-entry permit?
What do you mean as not been succesfull?...do you mean it because is taking too much time to process or because it has been denied, which is normally very unlikely, but it does take time to get processed.

Thanks for the replies.

This incident is not on me actually.

I am just trying to find out some information 'if' this situation happens, what can I do.

The situation is this.

person A does not live in the USA. Person A had in the past renewed his re entry permit for 3 times for 2 years each time.

Now during the next re newal of his re entry permit, if his application is rejected(maybe because person A have not been residing in the US), does person A have a grace period of 1 year before his GC is taken away?

Thank you for your time.
