What are the requirements for getting a re-entry permit if one has to go outside the US for 2 years. Does the job (outside the US) have to do with the company currently employing me within the US (I secured my green card 6 months ago through an employment based application)? Can I take a job with any company abroad? Can I go abroad for a personal reason (family member falling sick and needing care) for 2 years without losing my green card? How many times can I apply for a re-entry permit? What criteria are used to determine whether a petition for a re-entry permit can be approved?
