Re-entry permit after GC

We recently got our GC and need to go to India for more than a year.we need to leave within a week.

How many days prior to departure do we need to apply for re-entry permit ?Is there any time limit?

Same form as advance parole, I-131. You have to send it to NSC. It takes about 2-3 months nowadays. Check NSC processing times.

REP is valid for upto 2 years.

Since you have to leave within a week, walk in to the local service center and speak with them.
