Hello All,

Thanks for your time. Your input on my situation will be greatly appreciated:

I have been offerred a business trip abroad for a period of 6 months. I have filed I-485 and have EAD and AP. I will have to re-enter the country on AP rather than H1B, for various reasons. My current AP is valid until April 1, 2004. My assignment ends end of April. I have applied for a new AP and renewal of EAD. Looking at the processing dates, I don't think I will receive approvals before I have to leave.

Here's my question: Can I leave as scheduled (1st week of November), come back into the country in February 2004 using my current AP (assuming the AP and EAD get approved by then), pick up the new AP, go back to finish the assignment and re-enter end of April with the new AP?

I am concerned because I came across several posts in this Forum dicussing that it would be a bad idea to leave the country when an application is pending with USCIS/BCIS/INS.

Thanks again for your time and input,
Dharma.

Hi All:

Pls let me know what documents are needed while re-entering on AP. I know the following list:

2. AP
3. I485 receipt copy
4. What else ???

Is EAD one of the things needed while entering ??

Thanks !
