RE Contacting Senator or CongressMan

Hi Folks!!!
my AP is Pending Since NOV5/2003, i have to make a trip to India
in 1st week of April, as my younger Sister is getting married.
i did write USCIS about that, iam planning to contact Senator or
Congressman.
which is Better to Contact Congressman or Senator.
does it makes any difference.
CANUS_IMMI i know you contacted somebody for your EAD, was is congressman or senator.
Please give your inputs

You can also go to local USCIS office to get AP on the same day,
but I think you waste the fee which you paid earlier.

RD : Jul 2002.
ND : Jul 2002.
FP : Sep 2002.

Do we need to show them any proof that we need AP urgently? I havent applied for AP after the first one got expired. I am planning to visit india in the last week of december. Do i apply now or wait till august and then go to the local office and get it from there?

Local INS office doesn't deal with AP. I did go to Philly office
they said they don't deal with AP
