Hi, my history is listed as follows:
PD: 4/98
I-485 RD,ND: 8/23/00
Assigned around mid Nov, 2001, probably on Nov, 14, 2001.
Today I checked ACM, it says "This case has been approved on Jan 16,2002".
So the time taken from "assigned" to approval is 2 months plus 2 or 3 days. There wasn\'t any update during that period.
The reason that my case was delayed probably is because of divorcing during I-485 pending. The dependent didn\'t do fingerprint, somehow it
affected my case or INS just simply displaced my files.
I have seen many speculations that one case is delayed because I-140
is done at a different service center, or INS is investigatin something...
From my understanding, these are just unwarranted worries. I had 2 F-1\'s and 2 H-1\'s. INS probably just simply displayed the files during bookkeeping. So sooner or later, it will come.
I did try local congressman while my case hadn\'t been with an officer during October. It probably worked. So if your case has been over 3 months beyond notice date and hasn\'t been looked at, maybe give it a try.
Most of all, don\'t worry, hang on and keep a peaceful mind, go on with normal life. It will come.
