RD Dec 2002 FP2 notified,does it mean a hope?

Both my wife and I received FP2 notification yesterday, it is scheduled on 8/19. Questions about it:
1, Does it mean our cases were touched or just FP2 was generated automatically by computer? Does it mean we saw some hope on it?
2, Does FP2 come with the second time name check, or name is only checked once?
3, Can we go to local office (Detroit) earlier than scheduled date?

1)FP2s are generated by the computer system. However, I am not aware of the conditions that lead to FP2 notice generation.
2)Good Question: I do not believe that FP2 comes with a second Name check. I may be wrong. I checked AILA.org, USCIS.gov and FBI.gov and did not find anything on second name check.
