I would like to share the news with you and also post some of my experiences.
Just got the magic emails both my self and my wife are approved. No Ref.
Here is the approximate time line:
RD 8/20/2002
FP1 10/2002
3EADs and 3APs
FP2 7/2004 self, 8/2004 wife
FBI name check cleared on 2003
Sought help from Senator in Oct/04
Both myself and wife initiated inquiries in Oct/04
Get standard response for my wife - case pending wait for 60-90 days on 11/5/04
Get standard response for my expedite inquiry by fax - man power delayed and FP checks, etc delayed my case on 11/9/04.
Both LUD changed to 11/11/04 with the above responses.
Called 800 number again and was transferred to a IO and was told the case is in an adjustor's hand and no further info.
Send another fax to VSC state that my FBI name check, FP results completed and attached a copy of FBI name check response fax on 11/15/04.
Getting more and more frustrated daily.
Called lawyer and asking to initiate inquiry through AILI laison and told him I have tried all the above in vain. The lawyer was not happy with my actions and said the above repetitive actions could have been slowed my case down.
Keep on checking the LUD and visit here and could not get even worse everyday.
I hope people at the similar boat as mine will get approved soon and I fully understand the pain and frustrations going through day after day.
