RD and Recent policy change in INS-VSC

Hi Guys
Earlier I posted a question asking "Is it the ND or RD INS considers for processing our 485?" Now I have some info. on that.

The truest date that INS considers for processing is the RD. But sometimes you will be getting some discouraging news from IIOs that they consider the ND, and you have to wait, since your ND has not become current, blah blah. It is because the Contractors working as IIOs have not been informed properly and hence the confusion among Fulltime Employed IIOs and Contracted IIOs.

Also, INS -VSC recently changed its policy not to disclose the 485 applicants whether their cases have been assigned to an officer or not. All they are authorized to say is that your case is still pending or it is processed in the order it was received etc.

Hope this information helps

Where did you get this information from? Some people here talked IIO and they were told the files are with officers.

Please tell us source of this information

Here it is

I don't know what policy they have:

I called IIO today, the response is that "this is the case exactly we are working on which is under review. We may send you the decision or may get transfer or request further information depending on the criteria we have within a week." I am guessing by Mon or Tue. Hope everything goes good by God's grace without any delay.

RD 08/15, ND 10/11, FP 12/27

Who gave you this info. O enlightened one?

Hi Guys
Sorry that i forgot the source of info. in the posting.

I got this information from another IIO who was courteous enough to understand my frustration and explained those details.

This officer seemed to be a fulltime IIO and she told that all contrated IIOs cause the confusion treating ND for RDs.

Also, she told about the recent policy change w.r.t. answering about case statuses to 485 applicants.

To those who have posted that some IIOs still give info. that their cases are with officers ... again, all IIOs may not have been informed about this new policy or don't bother toomuch about that.

Thats what I can think of!
