I just checked the status of my case on line and I can't believe my eyes that my case is approved today, immediately checked AVM heard the approval there too.
mine is intresting story!!
I will post all details later, I need to check my wife and kids cases too.

Was out of status for 5 months unknowingly as H1B was cancelled without my knowledge by my very first employer.

Changed employer within 180 days
NO RFE!!

The fact that you took time to inform people here before checking
your dependents approvals made me stop eating my lunch
to congratulate you. Now I am going back to finish my lunch.

I guess the person is still in valid Adjustment of Status if he/she gets laid off during I-485. Am I right?Inputs appreciated.
 
Congrats! When was the last time you checked, and still "pending blah blah" .... When was the message changed?

I am back. Wife and kids got approved too( Earlier I didn't have their EAC nos handy to check)
Thanks every body for contratulating me.
Here is my story...
Enter this country 1999 with a Desi company.
Had a tough time with them, they tried to place me but couldn't.
I was asked to go back to India. I requested them not to cancel my H1B until I find another employer.I found a project and a new employer after about 30 days. Unfortunately the old employer already cancelled my H1 the day I was told to leave without my knowledge(Back stab ):)
When the new employer filed( 30 days late than the required) my H1 extension , INS came back with a denial notice saying that I am not eligible for extension as my previous H1 was revoked.I was shocked.
Filed new H1 and was approved after 3 moths.Lawyer suggested to get it stamped in India. Got a short trip to India and got it stamped . It took me more than 5 months to be in the payrole.
After a smooth year they filed my GC in Nov2000(labor)
Got approved in July2001.
I-140 Got approved in a month
I-485 applied Dec2001. While filing 485 I have to put that 5 month period as gap in my employment, thought that could pose problems.
My new year 2002 started bad with layoff. Employer couldnt place, asked me to find another employer. But promised to continue the GC
Had to sit on bench until I get EAD in Feb2002.
Found new emplyer (had to lie to them saying that I have GC, later convinced them with EAD)
It was less than 180 days , did not intimate INS but fear was always there about RFE. Thank god I did not get RFE.
But I did inform INS about the address change.
I did not intimate neither sponsering employee nor the attorney about my job change( dare risk;))
I am very very happy today!!

Question to you!!
Since I moved to new place which comes under Nebraska, can I go to stamping here or I have to go to Newark only as my address with INS is still in NJ?

congrats to u and ur family !!

since you have informed BCIS about the address change, hopefully the approval notice will state ur nearest district office.
