Here is the list of events for my Grren Card
Came in June,2000 through an Indian Company on L1
Filed for L1 to H1 transfer by a NJ based desi consulting company A in July, 2000
started working for desi consulting company A on H1 in Feb 2001
Laid off by company A in Jun 2001
Got another job in a American company B who transferred for H1 in August 2001.
Got married in a US court on 4th Aug 2001 and I 485 was filed as a dependent(two months after my wife's who was
primary in my case) on 22nd Oct 2001.
Went India in Oct 2001 without AP and without a decision on second H1. Used Company A's visa for travel and at the
POE told that although I no longer work for company A my visa-decision for company B is pending.After 20-25
minutes of discussion among themselves they let me in.
Wife's case(primary applicant) was approved in September 2002 and she got her physical card in Oct 2002
I got laid off again this time by American compnay B in Sep 2002. Applied for unemployment insurance(on the basis of EAD)
but withdrew the application on lawyer's advice before getting any money from them.
EAD renewed in January 2003
I-485 approved on Feb15, 2003
I didn't get any RFE and had called IIO once 3-4 months ago.
I will go for the stamping at Chicago's office as soon as I get the approval letter and will get back with my experience there.
