Ravi,

I got RFE for W2 on April 28, 2001. Responded by FedEx on 05/11 and FedEx received by INS on 05/14/2001. No Updated to AVM till date. I called IIO on Friday and he tells me that they can not do any thing till they receive the RFE from mail room.

Some time back you mentioned about sending a letter to Congress women. Can you give the web site details again!

There is one more guy (Ajay) like me. Please help us.

Here it is-

First find out who the congress person is for your area- I live in East Bay Area and it was Ellen Tausher for me who has office in Walnut Creek. She also has website and all info about the process is available on her website.

To find out congress person, go to www.house.gov and there is a page where you enter your zip code and it will tell you who is your loacl congress person. May give link to his/her website if one exists. Otherwise, find out the phone number to congressman office from telephone directory and contact them. They will need a signed form to inquire on your behalf. Send them signed form and all relevant docs like 485 receipt, RFE copy, RFE reponse delivery record etc. It may be helpful, though not necessary, to get a letter from your employer also addressed to congressman requesting assistance in finding status on your case from INS. They will send all the docs along with a letter on their letter head to INS. You will also get a copy of the letter they send.

I did all the process with Ellen Tauscher\'s office and they were very prompt in sending the letter. I faxed them docs on Fri, Aug 3rd. They sent the letter on Aug 6th, Mon.
