I have a very quick question that I need a straight answer with. I live in TX, and basically I'm in removal proceedings as a F-1 student for being out of status since 2008. But, I'm in the process of getting married and filing for my papers. Now, I've lost my driver's license a while ago, and since the laws in TX state that you must be a Citizen or have Legal Permanent Residency in order to be issued an ID, I'm wondering, since they let me stay in the country (legally) for the duration of my case, is there anyway I can retrieve my driver's license from the DPS? Will showing them the papers from immigration help the issuance of a driver's license? It's really jacked up to live in this country when you have no identification, it's a real HASSLE!
