Hello all !

I sent in my application almost 2 weeks ago and they received it on the 27th of September. I also already received the Return Mail Card but for some reason the check for the $400 has not cleared my bank account yet. There are some of you who's timeline are shown and looks like your checks were cashed pretty fast ...
Should I worry about something here or is it just a combination of them, the mail, weekends and my bank ?
Any Feedback would be appreciated !

No Worries Mate

If I were you I would not worry - check cashing may take a couple of weeks..its not a big deal

my experience

I mailed my N-400 app with cashier's cheque. At the back of the cheque, I put down my name and A# for identity purposes.

USCIS returned my app with the cheque about two weeks later saying it was endorsed. So I got another cashier's cheque and mailed it without putting anything at the back.

Now if you have written anything at the back of the cheque, mostly with you name, then you could possibly return your app back to you, other wise I think you should have received a confirmation letter with priority date.

Since you've received a mail card, then I wouldn't necessarily worry. Oh, if pictures were not rights or missing documents, then they would not cash the cheque, and your app will be returned. So ask yourself these question, and you'll have some idea.

If the application was to be rejected they would have done so almost immediately. I don't think there is any thing to worry about.

When should I worry ?

I thought I ask when I should start to worry and what I can do about it. Call or contact someone ?

Wait for a month and then ask the immigration information officers to request an inquiry into your application. BUt I am sure you should get the NOA much before that.

It usually takes 30 days from the time you send the documents to receive an NOA. It can take between one to three weeks for them to cash the check. All of that depends on your DO and the volume of application received in that particular period. Count 30 days from the time you sent it, if you don't get a response from them within that time frame, then call them.

Cheers,

Newly
