Hi everyone,

I went to my family doctor's office for the TB skin test today, but the doctor said she is not sure that for immigration purpose, the test result should be read in 48 hours or 72 hours (it is usually 72 hours). She said the INS approved doctors only accept results read 48 hours after the test.

My INS approved doctor is out of the office today. Please help me. Urgent!!!

My doctor never took the TB skin test.He just took the chest X-ray .Which took him less then 2 minutes.I don't think we really need to take the skin test,as most of the time asians test positive for that sin test,in that case chest x-ray is the only option.
SO you can ask him to take the chest X-ray .

Good luck

Hi dolly75,
Thanks for your reply. I have asked the INS approved doctor, but he wouldn't let me skip over the skin test. I told him the situation that I had TB vaccine before, so my skin test is 90% gonna be positive, but it seems like it still can't be omitted.

BTW, I have checked INS website, it says either 48 hours or 72 hours is fine.

Thanks.

Actuallythe reaction will be confirmed after 48-72 hrs. Usually when we do the TB test the part where the did the PPT will be in RED color. If the spot is very very then we have TB otheriwse not.
But the INS dcotore , eventhough we don't have TB .The doctor you have says we have TB , we need X-Ray to confirm. This is all is to grab money. So u have to wait for 48 hrs to to confirm

good luck
