Quick advice request pl

One of my friend who got rejected his asylum case has appealed for his case. But later he windrows his case by himself. Then the judge gave him 30 or 90 day to leave. But he told me that his wife has been threatened by his enemies, who know that he is coming back. According to my friend, they were threatening his wife, saying that if he comes back they will take the revenge. So my friend was afraid to go back and he stay hears for more than one year after the voluntary departure date.

Now is there any possibility to continue his case through good lawyer. Or he lost his all chances?
