Questions to file I-485, I-765

Hi,

I am on a J-1 visa and I got my waiver regarding two-year foreign residence requirements.
I got married to an US citizen.
We live in Maryland.

-----------------------------
In the form I-485 Part 3 "Processing information" question 2 on page 3

Have you received public assistance in the United States from any source, including the United States government or any state, county, city or municipality (other than emergency medical treatment), or are you likely to receive public assistance in thefuture?

As I mentioned I am on a J-1 visa, I am working at a government department as an exchange visitor.

-----------------------------
In the form I-765 question 15:
Current Immigration Status (Visitor, Student, etc) ?????

------------------------------
Where can I find the alien registration number?

Thanks

Q1: "Baltimore, MD". Vermont service center won't be handling your case, don't mail it there. Mail it to the Chicago Lockbox as mentioned on the front of the I-485

Q2: Dunno.

Q3. "J-1 Visa Holder"

Thanks for your quick response.
I just added one more question while you were responding my thread.

Where can I find the alien registration number?

What visa did you arrive here on?

Depending on that, you may not have a Alien number. If you do it will be written on the back of your I-94, a ten digit number starting with an "A".

Most likely though you don't have one so should write "None" where it asks you for it.

I came here on J-1 visa.
There is no A# number on my I-94

Be sure to put your name and Alien Registration Number
in the box outlined by heavy border below.

Yes, you don't have a A-number if you're J-1 I believe.

Simply write "None" or "N/A" where it asks for your A-number. You will get your A-number after you file your paperwork.
