Hi all,
Like many, many people in this forum, I have a pending I-485 form since July 11 2006. I applied through the DORA Pilot Program with high hope that I could be finished within the promising 90-day period. But, up until now, it's been literally 5 months....
Anyway, I have some questions that have bothered me much the past couple days:
1) My Lastest Updates changed a couple of times while the case was pending. The most recent date was Dec 2nd. Does this mean my case has successfully passed the FBI's name check, and been somewhere in USCIS?
2) I work part-time on campus of my college (I was a F1 visa student prior to filing I-485). Now, as I become an I-485 filer, do I need to get the EAD for on-campus job?
Speaking of EAD.... I received the notice from USCIS last month saying that they wouldn't be able to complete my case within 90 days, such and such....They asked me if I needed EAD to work (doesn't say off-campus or on-campus), then I'd have to set up an Infopass appointment....At that point of time, I thought I wouldn't need EAD, since I was fine working on campus...but, couple of my friends told me I might need it even working on campus....So, my last question is: Can I still apply for EAD now, and how long would it take to process the case?
Thanks very much!
