Questions regarding switching Employers using EAD

Hi ,

I am on H1B visa status now. It expires on Dec 2009. I had filed my I-485 and I-140 in July 2007. I am the primary applicant. I got my EAD on Sep 2007. My I-140 was approved in Jan 2008. It’s more that six months from the time that I had filed for my I-485 and also received my EAD card more than six months ago. I had recently applied for the extension of my EAD and advance parole also. I am thinking to use my EAD and switch my employer now. I have few questions regarding the same.

How advisable is that?
How much risk is involved as I am the primary applicant on the GC?
Will my GC get rejected due to switching of the employer before GC approval?
If at all my GC gets rejected at this point i.e. after switching the employer what would be my options?
Will there be any chance of getting a query before getting a rejection on my GC?
My dependent is also on H1 now. How will this affect his immigration status?

Please advice.
